The colors represent the projected difference between supply and demand of RNs and LPNs/LVNs for the U.S. in 2025, as projected by the Health Resources and Services Administration, an extension of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services:

> Green = more nurses needed

> Yellow = happy medium

> Orange = more nurses than jobs
